Nice views
7/14/2020: There are two possible hikes: The loop hike (described here) and the out and back along Sage Creek (bucket list). The loop hike is not marked and you have to make your own trail. Follow your map and GPS closely. There are places to go in Owyhee to see better views (thus the two hearts). However, it might be three hearts on the shorter and easier out and back. You will see a lot of cool rock formations, sage brush and long, exposed, shallow, sweeping bowls between the rock outcroppings. We went in July, and it was hot! If you do this hike, do it during spring or fall.
Go clockwise and follow way points on the map.

Marg’s Notes: Sage Creek Hike ~8 miles cross country – UGH!
Left the campsite ~9:00 & drove down the road to the trailhead. Parked under a cottonwood tree & walked ~1 mile to try to find the trail. The description in the book was no good, so Rod used GPS & maps. Lots of up & down! At the top of McIntyre Saddle, we had lunch. We were both exhausted. We flushed lots of Mountain Quail throughout the day. After eating, we headed around a rock outcropping & headed back the way we came on the opposite side. Had to climb up & over again. Then down pretty steep hills. We finally got to the creek & followed it out. Drank all our water! Once we got to the road in, we felt better! Finished the walk out to the truck. We had some H2O in the ice chest that was still cold! Yum! Back at camp, we had Gatorade before happy hour!
Alfredo noodles for dinner & peas. Went to bed early, but woke up in the middle of the night.
